Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Rossanese. Laval created a good opportunity to score 8 minutes into the match when P. Pirrò's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Rossanese mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 9 minutes, but T. Vlaun was unable to convert from short range. After 16 minutes, the Rossanese coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach. After 17 minutes, the Rossanese coach made a sign to S. Kozuń, who soon changed positions with A. Adío. Priding himself in being an active coach, the Rossanese manager gave new instructions to his players after 17 minutes. Pogliaghi sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from G. Losurdu after 35 minutes of play, making the score 2 - 0. Rossanese managed to reduce the score to 2 - 1 as E. Forti finished off a well-played combination from the left, easily carving through the defence. It was 2 - 1 at the break. Laval had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

F. Storari finished off the counterattack of Rossanese from the left rather easily, making the score 2 - 2. Some lightning fast two foot dribbles by M. Lambetain left G. Losurdu way behind after 72 minutes, but the shot was just wide. Laval's C. Bibescu tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. M. Lambetain was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Rossanese counterattack from the left after 76 minutes. His neat finish made the score 2 - 3. 78 minutes in, Laval's C. Bibescu received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. M. Lambetain of Rossanese received a yellow card after 80 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Possession in this half belonged to Laval, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

Laval's top performer was clearly L. Nizzolo. However, G. Losurdu made a disastrous appearance. Most important Rossanese player was F. Storari. C. Herzell turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 3.
