Dark skies made the crowd of 12000 at EBETUFC Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Eldert Tetteroo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Eero Wikström and Gonçalo Matos. Kļaviņš broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 5, much to the home crowd's dismay. At this point, it was obvious that the players of CBSV lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 0 - 5 was the score after the first half. CBSV had most of the ball, with 82 percent of possession.

CBSV's A. Kļaviņš made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 65 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. After 66 minutes, CBSV's D. Perrenoud burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 6. The visitors' J. Joli took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 76 minutes into the match. 0 - 7 for CBSV. 84 minutes into the game, CBSV worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. S. Baroudi received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 87 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 8. The CBSV fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by CBSV, with 84 percent of the ball.
