TTM 1 - 0 VFF
(380663660)

28-07-2012 08.00
Clouds darkened the skies at
Rau Củ Quả Sài Gòn Stadium as 68354 spectators turned up for the match.
Magnus Malmling was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Joakim Hörnborg and
Bert Guevara.
People from all over
Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh had joined up for the derby.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for TTM.
The following players had been chosen: Sâm - Kandemir, Iancu, Offringa - Navarro Soto, Piscaglia, Ferrari, Cilli, Panduru - Ginelli, Sz. Kovács.
VFF tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
Lineup: Restainer - Lund, Barkholt - Đăng Khoa, Blochberberger, Stary, Lapi, Abramovich - Remus, Salinas Malagamba, Parme.
As the 1 minute mark approached, the VFF coach decided it was time for a substitution.
A. Restainer reluctantly made way for
G. Gaulin on the pitch.
After 1 minutes, the VFF coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
M. Abramovich off the field.
E. Severinsen took his place.
6 minutes into the game,
B. Salinas Malagamba almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
VFF had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 7 minutes in when
D. Barkholt came up alone against
N. Sâm who managed a block.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
H. Blochberberger from VFF a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 15 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Halftime score was 0 - 0.
Possession in this half belonged to TTM, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.
Many thought
P. Piscaglia ought to have been awarded a penalty 55 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
G. Gaulin after a determined run through the middle.
VFF had to make a substitution after 56 minutes.
J. Lund limped off the field and was replaced by
V. Erdener.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
C. Navarro Soto, but the TTM player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
The TTM players could smell victory in the air.
G. Cilli wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
N. Lãm after 76 minutes.
TTM put in a good effort on the right, but
C. Sz. Kovács saw his volley fly wide of the mark 77 minutes into the game.
VFF's
R. Stary refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 78 minutes.
TTM enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
Most important TTM player was
E. Kandemir.
N. Sâm on the other hand, had a terrible day.
VFF's top performer was clearly
R. Stary.
However,
N. Đăng Khoa made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 0.
