39170 fans braved the pouring rain at
Castle of Peace.
Sergio Ocaranza was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ladislav Zhorel and
Néstor Puch.
Dream tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
Starters: Rodríguez - Balázs, Mcintosh, Solihin - Argüelles, Letellier, Bucataru, Jankowicz - Gaetti, Rebelo Oliveira, Bunskoek.
A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for FCB.
Lineup: Wezelaar - Haşca, Viborg, Kibar, Josipović, Sinukaban - Grandet, Halbritter, Rais - Altman, Cornaglia.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for FCB.
Dream took the lead 13 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
J. Rebelo Oliveira elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
H. Argüelles was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Dream to 2 - 0 as
M. Bucataru finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
With 29 minutes played,
F. Grandet of FCB fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
2 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Dream, with 67 percent of the ball.
Ater 47 minutes
S. Sinukaban seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for FCB making it 2 - 1.
Dream managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when
P. Balázs cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
The referee showed Dream's
B. Solihin the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Dream solidified their lead at the 68 minute mark, as
H. Mcintosh dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 1.
After 71 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
T. Letellier gave the Dream supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 1.
With 80 minutes played, Dream's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
J. Rebelo Oliveira he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 6 - 1.
Dream had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.
Most important Dream player was
T. Letellier.
However,
N. Rodríguez made a disastrous appearance.
FCB's top performer was clearly
J. Altman.
T. Wezelaar turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 6 - 1.
