Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 11447 at Telaso Arena today. Ugo Ardistio was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Willy Sand and Lars Häckel. Telaso decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. They fielded: Mashudi - Lewono, Stebbings, Saleh, Rayar - Yarangga, Tansil, Tampubolon, Wadjik - Aulia, Sunito.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Jabatex. The following players took the field: Tambun - Salim, Papilaya, Latjuba, Sutopo - Suryanto, Hardiyan, Dani, Sultan - Dinal, Sadikin.

C. Dinal came close to putting the visiting team one up 30 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but M. Mashudi managed to tip the ball to a corner. The visiting N. Sadikin was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 37 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. Some fine movement on the left led to a Jabatex goal after 39 minutes, making it 0 - 2. F. Suryanto was noted down as the scorer. After 42 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Z. Dani who increased Jabatex's lead to 0 - 3. It was 0 - 3 at the break. Jabatex had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.

A. Latjuba received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 47 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. F. Suryanto of Jabatex took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 53 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 4. After this, you could see that the players of Jabatex were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Jabatex had to make a substitution after 54 minutes. A. Sutopo limped off the field and was replaced by L. Tampaty. With 65 minutes played, C. Dinal nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Jabatex made it 0 - 5 as Z. Dani got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to F. Suryanto who whipped a low drive in off the far post. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for F. Suryanto. After 72 minutes, Jabatex's C. Dinal burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 6. With 75 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed A. Latjuba of Jabatex to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 7. Jabatex increased their lead after 76 minutes when C. Dinal broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 8, much to the home crowd's dismay. Possession in this half belonged to Jabatex, who controlled the ball 72 percent of the time.

F. Lewono performed admirably for Telaso. M. Mashudi on the other hand, had a terrible day. Jabatex's top performer was clearly L. Tampaty. However, U. Tambun made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 8.
