(380778524)

14-07-2012 10.00
Dark skies made the crowd of 67812 at
The BeAst Lair a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Stefano Sirocchi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ziemowit Nogalski and
Peter Jovanovic.
Beast had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
Starters: How Keng - Hannabuss, Borzì, Staindl - Kirchnüchel, Arellano, Tutupoli, Delov - Pamic, Ollivier, Mignogna.
Dragonul decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
They fielded: Vīriņš - Vovchenko, van Duinen, Suoanttila, Postelnicu - Uribe, Lewoń, Blokhin, De Vroe - Assunção, McGovern.
Dragonul clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
With 2 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
U. Kirchnüchel flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
7 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
J. Pamic broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Beast.
After 23 minutes Dragonul tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
W. Lewoń's shot sailed wide after his break down the right.
J. Pamic should probably have put his team up another goal after 30 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
G. Vīriņš kept the visitors in the game.
At 36 minutes, the visitors got a chance to reduce the score when a penalty was awarded, but
M. De Vroe, intimidated by the crowd, missed it.
2 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Beast, with 61 percent of the ball.
Beast put in a good effort on the right, but
J. Pamic saw his volley fly wide of the mark 61 minutes into the game.
Having turned the direction of play quickly, the Dragonul counter attack ended as the ball carrier was brought down violently by a defender after 62 minutes. The resulting free kick was a flat shot into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and did not allow the opponents to reach the ball.
Dragonul's
G. Vīriņš had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 85 minutes having been played.
F. Månsson was the replacement.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Beast to 3 - 0 as
M. Mignogna finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
After this, you could see that the players of Beast were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
The referee showed Dragonul's
U. Uribe the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Always quick and a menace to his opponents,
M. Mignogna was very close to getting through after 88 minutes, but he could only put the ball into the keeper's arms.
Beast increased the lead as
A. Arellano struck to make the score 4 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
Beast enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
The most dominating Beast player was without a doubt
M. Mignogna.
On the other hand,
D. Hannabuss's play was disheartening.
A. Assunção performed admirably for Dragonul.
F. Månsson turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 4 - 0.
