Clear skies welcomed the 57422 spectators who had made their way to Dobrogea Arena. Ataíde Nabo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Oiva Peltoniemi and Jérémie Bresseleers. Scythia started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. They fielded: Tadmor - Cazan, Hoffer - Brohus, Enevoldsen, Cozma, Havaš, Boland - Winter, Custers, Kossuth.

THERYON had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Broničs - Maselli, Kuckucks, Bogdán, Cigoli - Pelgrims, Avram, van der Staay, Holtzman - Beatrix, Rocher.

THERYON's M. Kuckucks managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 8 minutes. 0 - 1. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 11 minutes into the match, an alert K. Hoffer bagged the ball for Scythia, levelling the score to 1 - 1. They were singing the praises of H. Boland 13 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Scythia. After 16 minutes, Scythia's K. Custers swiftly ran past M. Kuckucks and nutmegged the keeper! 3 - 1. T. Enevoldsen struck a 30 metre free kick home 17 minutes into the match. 4 - 1 for the home team. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Scythia, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

After 49 minutes, T. Enevoldsen sent the corner kick right to M. Kossuth who headed it sharply past the keeper. 5 - 1! At this point, it was obvious that the players of Scythia lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. With 67 minutes played, Scythia's K. Custers almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. M. Havaš could have put Scythia up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 76 minutes. THERYON's C. Beatrix was shown a yellow card after 81 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Scythia solidified their lead at the 82 minute mark, as Y. Winter dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 1. A great save by keeper J. Broničs after 86 minutes kept the visitors in the game after T. Enevoldsen struck from the left with a real cannonball. H. Rocher of THERYON was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Scythia, with 60 percent of the ball.

Most important Scythia player was Y. Winter. R. Brohus turned in a dismal performance, however. C. Beatrix performed admirably for THERYON. On the other hand, M. Kuckucks's play was disheartening. The match ends 6 - 1.
