41193 spectators had found their way to F.C. Dinamomania Arena, despite the heavy rain. Pãstorel Vlãsceanu was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Arne Steffenhagen and Max Schönholzer. The derby had been the talk of Bucureşti all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Dinamomania started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. Ultras_STEAUA will have to do without A. Panainte for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 31 minute mark. He was substituted by T. Morariu. G. Slavici was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. A badly positioned defensive formation on a free kick after 35 minutes led to Ultras_STEAUA's A. Marinescu giving the visitors the lead 0 - 1. Ş. Ibănescu was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! After 37 minutes, T. Codrea got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. We may never know what M. Eriksson was thinking when he tried to pass the ball through a crowd of opponents. Luckily for him, Dinamomania's B. Grace somehow missed the wide open net. After 41 minutes of play, V. Niculae equalised for Dinamomania after an elegant attack from the right. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Dinamomania, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, C. Mazilu got himself booked. The manager of Ultras_STEAUA was not happy. Dinamomania had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

The most dominating Dinamomania player was without a doubt T. Codrea. On the other hand, M. Thomas's play was disheartening. G. Ruje performed admirably for Ultras_STEAUA. M. Eriksson turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
