36565 spectators had come to
Adidas Arena this cloudy day.
Salvatore De Cristofaro was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Elías Gálvez and
Patrick Daulne.
The derby had been the talk of
Bucureşti all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
U Tricolor started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Bărgăoanu - Popovici, Stroie, Pandele - Nuno, Krúdy, Gheorghe, Raubuch, Wäch - Niculescu, Hämylä.
Dinamomania tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
They fielded: Hauet - Gal, Virta, Ibănescu, Jehannin - Grace, Slavici, Niculae, Morar, Bergalló - Codrea.
R. Gal of Dinamomania seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 0 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
G. Bergalló.
After 18 minutes Dinamomania's
A. Jehannin contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
U Tricolor tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play.
Dinamomania's
J. Virta was shown a yellow card after 26 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
In a fantastic display of determination, U Tricolor's
D. Popovici forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down.
28 minutes into the game, Dinamomania worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
U Tricolor's
A. Niculescu made an attempt at equalising 38 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound.
0 - 1 was the halftime score.
Dinamomania had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.
With 54 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
G. Slavici of Dinamomania to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2.
With 67 minutes played,
B. Grace nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, U Tricolor's
M. Nuno was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 77 minutes.
D. Jalbă was given a chance to change things around.
78 minutes into the match U Tricolor's
V. Stroie head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Dinamomania, with 63 percent of the ball.
Most important U Tricolor player was
J. Hämylä.
J. Wäch turned in a dismal performance, however.
L. Morar performed admirably for Dinamomania.
V. Hauet on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 2.
