Barcraiova 6 - 0 Avantul (380780878)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 46111 to Noul Camp Central. Viktor Baumgartner was the appointed referee with assistance provided by João Oliveira and Remco Karl Bouneß. Barcraiova started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Costin - Surugiu, Velázquez, Andrei - Constantin, Herghelegiu, Pop, da Cruz, Stoica - Bulzoni, Ganea.

Avantul tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Starters: Bartoš - Sobkowicz, Ayroldi, Spronsen, Lunga - Donaldson, Yankov, Šoštar, Popa - Monteira, MacGaw.

For their match strategy, Avantul had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. After 6 minutes of play, M. Bulzoni gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. Clever play that showed his experience gave D. Popa a good chance to score, but the shot hit the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as J. da Cruz broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Barcraiova. Confident in their lead, Barcraiova's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Avantul's D. Popa made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 22 minutes into the match. Barcraiova's J. da Cruz increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 25 minutes. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, V. Herghelegiu got himself booked. The manager of Barcraiova was not happy. Barcraiova solidified their lead at the 34 minute mark, as M. Bulzoni dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 0. V. Stoica increased the lead for Barcraiova to 5 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! M. Bulzoni could have put Barcraiova up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 39 minutes. The teams went for the halftime break at 5 - 0. Barcraiova claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 66 percent.

A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Barcraiova's J. da Cruz increasing the lead to 6 - 0. By then J. da Cruz had scored three goals - a hat trick! With 53 minutes played, K. Spronsen had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Barcraiova, with 69 percent of the ball.

Most important Barcraiova player was V. Stoica. On the other hand, I. Andrei's play was disheartening. J. Monteira performed admirably for Avantul. V. Bartoš was a disappointment, however. The match ends 6 - 0.
