30-06-2012 10.00
Dark skies made the crowd of 31800 at
"CEZY MEMORIAL ARENA" a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Jonas Gussner was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Miodrag Cikatić and
Alberto Siffredi.
A.S.A. decided to use a 5-4-1 set up.
Lineup: Fernández - Gaude, Khuda, Sørensen, Petronits, Halle - Baehni, Udvardy, Seelhofer, Mejzr - Cozma.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for HHTim.
They fielded: Iacaruso - Tausta, Pizarro, Lorenzi - Carvalho, Karlsen, Carraro, Sills, Bran - Egusquiza, Sancak.
A.S.A. clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
HHTim took a creative approach on the field.
N. Egusquiza had a good opportunity to give HHTim the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.
HHTim's
R. Sills refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 31 minutes.
32 minutes into the game,
A. Carvalho had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide.
33 minutes into the game,
C. Cozma finished off a A.S.A. left wing counterattack, making the score 1 - 0.
E. Sancak came close to levelling the score 37 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post.
A.S.A.'s defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 38 minutes gone, but
L. Mejzr's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.
S. Baehni could have put A.S.A. up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 39 minutes.
1 - 0 was the halftime score.
HHTim had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.
P. Karlsen made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defence cleared the ball to a corner.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 72 minute mark, HHTim's
D. Pizarro hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 73 minutes,
F. Bran broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper.
J. Fernández made a great block, though.
Coming in from the right, A.S.A. had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 76 minutes, but
C. Cozma's attempt to finish was easily stopped.
The visitors were awarded a penalty by the referee 77 minutes into the match, much to the anger of the home crowd.
N. Egusquiza took advantage of the situation and scored to make it 1 - 1.
The coach of A.S.A. wanted to try to change things around after 77 minutes, and gave new tactical instructions.
HHTim claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 70 percent.
Most important A.S.A. player was
C. Cozma.
On the other hand,
Q. Seelhofer's play was disheartening.
HHTim's top performer was clearly
N. Egusquiza.
A. Lorenzi on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 1.
