After 38 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for R. Udvardy who increased A.S.A.'s lead to 0 - 4. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by A.S.A., with 66 percent of the ball.

With 66 minutes played, A. Kostenoglou nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. After 73 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by A.S.A. was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. Against a lesser team, A.S.A. could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 75 minutes.
