Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 37591 at Stadionul "Adrian Câmpeanu" today. Fredrik ''Gillis'' Yngvesson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Leo Børch and Henrik Ehnander. Ripensia decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. S. Bergot's lightning pace was too much for G. Diniţă who could only look on as the Wallys player blasted one home. 0 - 1. Wallys came close to extending their lead as P. Vorgaard delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 5 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, S. Bergot would have put Wallys up another goal 13 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. The home crowd was not impressed when B. Sizemore came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 17 minutes. Wallys were now up 0 - 2. After 18 minutes of game time, S. Bergot had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but A. Rozental was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. After 19 minutes, the defensive line of Ripensia created a counterattack through the middle that gave W. Tabini a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Wallys's M. Ghirelli made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 23 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Wallys had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

O. Ivan really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by M. Drăgănescu after a corner. C. Chaves dispatched a majestic long shot 68 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. After 77 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed E. Oñederra to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 3. Wallys enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

A. Rozental performed admirably for Ripensia. However, J. Mastalli made a disastrous appearance. Most important Wallys player was E. Oñederra. K. Kohlbacher turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
