04-08-2012 10.00
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 35361 that came out to
F C Somnorosii Arena.
Juan Camara was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jopie de Winkel and
Angelo Maerki.
Somnorosii started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
Starters: Ruiz - Knölbratt, Vigolo, Senvall - Andresen, Ionescu, Furnicã, Merraouche - Rappaport, Arys, Verwijk.
Pandurii tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Omahić - Lo Piano, Blanlœil, Schaeper - Zanoni, Pirpiliu, Desplanques, Glastra, Fierariu - Flebus, Hushovd.
Somnorosii seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
With 15 minutes played,
B. Desplanques of Pandurii fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
32 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
S. Hushovd, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
K. Knölbratt caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 38 minutes. This gave Somnorosii the 1 - 0 lead.
After 39 minutes, Pandurii used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach.
Pandurii tied it all up, 40 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by
F. Lo Piano, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1.
With 41 minutes played, Pandurii's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
B. Desplanques he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 1 - 2.
After 42 minutes of play,
M. Andresen evened things up for Somnorosii with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 2 - 2.
Halftime score was 2 - 2.
Possession in this half belonged to Pandurii, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.
46 minutes into the game, Somnorosii wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
A. Furnicã gave
A. Véber a quick hug as he left the field.
The intense heat forced
M. Vigolo into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others.
With 72 minutes played
O. Merraouche almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors'
S. Omahić was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 80 minutes allowed
V. Fierariu to score for Pandurii. The scoreboard now read 2 - 3.
The crowd roared in delight as
A. Verwijk finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Somnorosii 81 minutes into the match. 3 - 3.
Pandurii claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
Somnorosii's top performer was clearly
J. Arys.
However,
M. Vigolo made a disastrous appearance.
Pandurii's best player was
V. Fierariu.
M. Zanoni was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 3.
