The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave G. Russo from CFR-istii a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 22 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Clever play that showed his experience gave I. Kristiansen a good chance to score, but the shot hit the crossbar. After 36 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for J. Pettersson who increased CFR-istii's lead to 0 - 2. Besoiu's V. Vladu managed a superb strike from the left after 40 minutes that would have left goalkeeper B. Åkerer without a chance, had it not hit the post. It was 0 - 2 at the break. CFR-istii enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

Besoiu's V. Vladu was shown a yellow card after 58 minutes for slicing down an opponent. G. Galizzi was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so CFR-istii's P. Wierzbicki had to come off the bench. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, A. Kriváň took over the role of being the CFR-istii captain. The visitors' A. Kriváň took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 77 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for CFR-istii. Confident in their lead, CFR-istii's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The referee signalled a penalty 83 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. B. Lozano knocked it home to make the score 0 - 4. Besoiu's Ł. Marynowicz cut towards the middle after 84 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 1 - 4. Possession in this half belonged to CFR-istii, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.

Besoiu's top performer was clearly P. Rendes. I. Butuc on the other hand, had a terrible day. B. Lozano performed admirably for CFR-istii. However, G. Russo made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 4.
