32584 punters turned up at RelioN Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Roldán Montolío was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jack Forsholt and Gene Grégoire. RelioN decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Bichir - Ibn-Akil, Bădulescu, Raynal - Čaleta, Filimon, Frăsineanu, Rus, van Beuningen - Cambier, Campagnoli.

G.O.S.C had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Heine-Vāgners - Diţă, Alexandersson, Ötvös - Bădic, Munteanu, Álvarez, Bunea, Merca - Despa, Ionele.

G.O.S.C saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Down the middle came F. Despa, making a fantastic play that nearly had G.O.S.C take the lead after 8 minutes, but A. Bichir preserved the tie. With 20 minutes played, P. Raynal of RelioN fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. G.O.S.C's A. Heine-Vāgners had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 27 minutes having been played. C. Kulik was the replacement. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to G. Cambier, but the RelioN player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Things were deteriorating for the away team as RelioN scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for P. Frăsineanu after 36 minutes. One of many good crosses from J. van Beuningen on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by G. Cambier, who scored for RelioN. 3 - 0 RelioN's B. Campagnoli left the field after 42 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was A. Toro. A. Toro had a fantastic opportunity to put RelioN up another goal 43 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to RelioN, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.

G.O.S.C reduced the lead after 52 minutes to 3 - 1 as R. Merca easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right. J. van Beuningen should probably have put his team up another goal after 59 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by C. Kulik kept the visitors in the game. 60 minutes into the game G.O.S.C managed a counterattack, but I. Ionele took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. RelioN's A. Toro increased the lead to 4 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 72 minutes. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. G. Cambier squirmed through their central defence after 82 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 1. By then G. Cambier had scored three goals - a hat trick! The players of RelioN now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. RelioN enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

RelioN's top performer was clearly J. van Beuningen. However, A. Bichir made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating G.O.S.C player was without a doubt F. Despa. C. Munteanu on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 1.
