Thiebault made a nice dash down the wing after 16 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. A well placed corner kick from V. Malila was followed by T. Aittoniemi's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Bronx, the score now 1 - 0. mondobongo showed their counterattack skill 32 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with F. Ohlfeldt scoring uncontested for 1 - 1. At 36 minutes played, V. Malila came in from the right with the intention of giving Bronx the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. mondobongo's I. Prună got himself booked for a foul. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, T. Aittoniemi scored for Bronx putting them ahead 2 - 1, after 43 minutes. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Bronx had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed mondobongo's coach gave I. Ambrosio the opportunity the player had been hoping for. P. Valles reluctantly left the field. Bronx will have to do without S. Lindström for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 74 minute mark. He was substituted by M. Andonov. Bronx's C. Navas swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
