Craiova 10 - 0 FTW (380813413)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 26937 to AFC Craiova Arena. Christoph Arnhold was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Robert Sairinen and Uwe Mahni. Craiova decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Donato - Aysungur, Bem-Haja, Hajmási - Cârstea, Ax, Remes, Pasquier, Burtoiu - Jacobs, Haiduc.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for FTW. They fielded: Luncaşu - Chiţacu, Cotoc, Fâţă, Fântână - Burghelea, Roşca, Baraboi, Slamna - Dimitriu, Kmetty.

Craiova were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. The celebrations in the stands could only mean one thing - C. Jacobs's free kick had found the back of the net and put Craiova ahead 1 - 0! Craiova managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when G. Cârstea cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Craiova's K. Ax increasing the lead to 3 - 0. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Craiova to 4 - 0 as K. Ax finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Confident in their lead, Craiova's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Craiova solidified their lead at the 39 minute mark, as M. Aysungur dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. With 40 minutes played, Craiova put themselves up 6 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to D. Hajmási, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. F. Căciularu was called on to replace FTW's M. Burghelea after 41 minutes following a nasty collision. It was 6 - 0 at the break. Craiova had most of the ball, with 88 percent of possession.

Craiova increased the lead as A. Remes struck to make the score 7 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. 57 minutes into the match C. Jacobs put Craiova ahead 8 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. FTW had to make a substitution after 67 minutes. A. Luncaşu limped off the field and was replaced by S. Cozma. A. Haiduc increased the lead for Craiova to 9 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! After 73 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and K. Ax gave the Craiova supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 10 - 0. By then K. Ax had scored three goals - a hat trick! FTW's A. Baraboi had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 75 minutes having been played. I. Călcâi was the replacement. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, S. Cozma took over the role of being the FTW captain. Craiova claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 87 percent.

A. Remes performed admirably for Craiova. M. Aysungur on the other hand, had a terrible day. FTW's best player was M. Slamna. S. Cozma turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 10 - 0.
