Today, ACDM's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. FCSB clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. The goal to make it 0 - 1 was scored by E. Pietronero after 10 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by FCSB. FCSB's M. Petrescu was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 17 minutes. C. Cappozzo of ACDM received a yellow card after 21 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 22 minutes into the match, ACDM's I. Sarasua maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. ACDM had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, R. Trikhin scored for ACDM putting them ahead 2 - 1, after 23 minutes. Things were deteriorating for the away team as ACDM scored another to make it 3 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for R. Trikhin after 26 minutes. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like M. Petrescu. D. Smeets didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. ACDM's F. Ouiguini got himself booked for a foul. Halftime score was 3 - 1. FCSB had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

It was obvious that ACDM had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of ACDM to 4 - 1 as E. Ilie finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. I. Sarasua unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. K. Gamza was called on to replace FCSB's L. Ang after 74 minutes following a nasty collision. 82 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as O. Yaish anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 4 - 2. Attacking on the wings was the choice for ACDM, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. ACDM managed to extend their lead to 5 - 2 when D. Tomuş cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. R. Stolcz could've grabbed a goal for FCSB 86 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. The visitors replied 87 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 5 - 3, as R. Stolcz dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. ACDM enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

ACDM's top performer was clearly I. Sarasua. N. van Baar on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important FCSB player was M. Petrescu. K. Gamza turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 3.
