previous 5/10 next 7/10  Barcelona 7 - 0 Maghiari (380818578)

37550 spectators had come to Nou Camp this cloudy day. Robin Jacobsson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by José María Celestino and Tom Schnell. Barcelona started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Fages - Aslaner, Rua, Pavlou - Arjona, Van Bellegem, Ledesma, Urquizu - Álvarez, Giménez, Weitzel.

Maghiari tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Lineup: Bádonyi - Darea, Bona, Roman, Scrobotă - Roşcăneanu, Cornoiu, Andronkov, Cucu - Şon, Baán.

A lack of experience caused A. Roman to make a difficult dribble close to dangerous opponent C. Giménez of Barcelona, who took the opportunity to score making it 1 - 0. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. C. Urquizu squirmed through their central defence after 13 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. The players of Barcelona now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. M. Cucu managed to make an excellent pass from the flank, but S. Baán was not as skillfull in scoring. After 20 minutes, Barcelona's M. Rua found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 3 - 0. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Barcelona's M. Rua increasing the lead to 4 - 0. With 26 minutes played, V. Aslaner could have brought this one home for Barcelona as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Halftime score was 4 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Barcelona, with 87 percent of the ball.

Given a free kick close to the byline, Barcelona tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let E. Weitzel slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 5 - 0, 48 minutes into the game. Barcelona solidified their lead at the 49 minute mark, as C. Giménez dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 0. 50 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. Ledesma broke through, making the score 7 - 0 for Barcelona. Barcelona's C. Giménez left the field after 51 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was A. Zidaru. 76 minutes into the game, M. Rua had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came A. Marreiros. Possession in this half belonged to Barcelona, who controlled the ball 90 percent of the time.

The most dominating Barcelona player was without a doubt F. Álvarez. However, A. Marreiros made a disastrous appearance. Maghiari's best player was G. Scrobotă. A. Roman was a disappointment, however. The match ends 7 - 0.
