previous 3/10 next 5/10  Barcelona1 1 - 2 Barcelona2 (380818580)

Due to an all-day shower, 27437 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Nou Camp. Andrea Porceddu was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Bãdunã Ion and Lion Wannieck. Barcelona1 started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. They fielded: Morgansson - Grigoraş, Kakuk, Butnaru - Garcia, Di Ninno, Huttenlauch, Camps - Burdenski, Chlapoutakis, Wyszogrodzki.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Barcelona2. Lineup: Fages - Aslaner, Rua, Pavlou - Arjona, Van Bellegem, Ledesma, Urquizu - Álvarez, Ezcurra, Weitzel.

Barcelona1 were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. N. Garcia was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. With 8 minutes played, Barcelona2's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to E. Weitzel he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 1. G. Di Ninno slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. After 34 minutes of play, H. Burdenski evened things up for Barcelona1 with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1. Good work by the Barcelona1 defensive line after 36 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found I. Chlapoutakis alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Barcelona2, with 53 percent of the ball.

62 minutes into the game, N. Garcia had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came D. Jurkowski. The guests took the lead 82 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in A. Ezcurra scoring to make it 1 - 2. Barcelona2's E. Weitzel got himself booked for a foul. Barcelona2 claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

The most dominating Barcelona1 player was without a doubt I. Chlapoutakis. D. Jurkowski was a disappointment, however. Barcelona2's top performer was clearly F. Álvarez. P. Fages on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 2.
