The crowd of 14124 turning up at BetFun.ro Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Marino Della Valle was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mattia Lagneaux and Salvatore Zappalà. Betfun.ro had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Tyukov - Bucur, Haiduc, McKinnon - Timmermansz, Cucuian, Mizrachi, Rojík, Sokachev - Tănăsescu, Macuer.

Tg-Jiu decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. They fielded: Baratta - Gil, De Sario - Dincă, Rogeon, Sumberg, Sultz, Pozzoni - Sairinen, Moeschinger, Rambone.

Betfun.ro's Ş. Cucuian got himself booked for a foul. After 11 minutes, Tg-Jiu sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached F. Rambone, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 1. Just a few inches to the right, and the visitors could have had a goal 26 minutes into the match. G. Moeschinger surely wishes he could do that free kick over again. Betfun.ro's A. Tănăsescu was shown a yellow card after 32 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 36 minutes into the game, Betfun.ro seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation. Thighs bulging, K. Sultz charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. A drive down the left side allowed A. Sairinen to get in close and score another goal for Tg-Jiu after 42 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. After 43 minutes V. Pozzoni made a speedy advance and dropped the ball to A. Sairinen who shuffled it past the keeper. The score was now 0 - 3. The players of Tg-Jiu now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. 44 minutes into the match, M. Dincă came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Tg-Jiu had most of the ball, with 77 percent of possession.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Betfun.ro was able to get his message across, and raised Betfun.ro's organisation to solid. V. Tyukov kept the home side in the game with a magnificent save when G. Moeschinger delivered an almost perfect free kick to the far post. With 75 minutes played, Tg-Jiu's G. Moeschinger missed a penalty when the keeper made a premature dive in the right direction, and palmed the ball out of the way. After 80 minutes, Tg-Jiu's K. Sultz burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 4. Ø. Sumberg of Tg-Jiu took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 81 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 5. The visitors' C. Rogeon took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 83 minutes into the match. 0 - 6 for Tg-Jiu. There was concern in the stands when, at the 85 minute mark, Betfun.ro's V. Tyukov hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. S. Haiduc was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. K. Sultz increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 7. 88 minutes into the game, Betfun.ro seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. Possession in this half belonged to Tg-Jiu, who controlled the ball 79 percent of the time.

P. Macuer performed admirably for Betfun.ro. R. Timmermansz was a disappointment, however. Tg-Jiu's top performer was clearly A. Sairinen. On the other hand, N. Baratta's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 7.
