previous 10/10 next 2/10  morse 3 - 2 Teach (380831561)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 23215 that came out to morse Arena. Christian Klein was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Valdis Eikēns and Grzegorz Czerbniak. morse decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Denktaş - Kolczak, Guldager, Hernández - Górkowski, Stănescu, Ion, Constantin, Palade - Ramaccioni, Cătună.

Teach tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Giurcă - Fameli, Martin, Sóvári - Carchon, Stranner, Štefulj, Riber, Szatvári - Pieters, Wybenga.

The strategy for Teach was to use their ability to press. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile F. Štefulj. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 6 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from V. Constantin, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave C. Palade from morse a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 14 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Given a free kick close to the byline, morse tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let C. Palade slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 0, 15 minutes into the game. A. Ramaccioni unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Teach's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. J. Guldager squirmed through their central defence after 36 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. morse had to make a substitution after 37 minutes. J. Guldager limped off the field and was replaced by M. Lupan. Halftime score was 3 - 0. morse claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

N. Wybenga's speed was clear to see after 63 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released R. Pieters who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 3 - 1. 64 minutes into the match, Teach replied and reduced the lead to 3 - 2. N. Wybenga scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. The heat made it a terrible day for C. Palade, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players. Coming from the right, G. Stănescu almost managed to score another goal for morse, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Possession in this half belonged to morse, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Most important morse player was G. Stănescu. M. Lupan turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Teach player was without a doubt M. Stranner. I. Sóvári was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
