(380841534)

28-07-2012 10.00
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 37067 that came out to
Emil Alexandrescu.
Marcin Bojko was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Cândido Leite and
Per Dehlflod.
Poli-Iasi started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Monea - Westerveld, Kostersitz, Goyara - Drzymała, Larnicol, Oargă, Pampa, Lo Bartolo - Silvano, Castillo.
Prahova decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Ronsin - 斯晶 (Sijing) , Fekete, 勇國 (Yongguo) - Sarlo, Achleitner, Manby, Najman, Fairbairn - 保卓 (Baozhuo), Coniglio.
Poli-Iasi mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
Prahova were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 17 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
J. Silvano, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile
X. Goyara.
With 31 minutes played, Poli-Iasi's
L. Pampa almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
The visitors'
N. Fairbairn was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 1 - 1 after 33 minutes.
Poli-Iasi were very close to putting themselves one up after 38 minutes as
N. Westerveld got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide.
Prahova's counterattacks created a good chance for
A. Manby on the right after 39 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
L. Pampa got himself booked. The manager of Poli-Iasi was not happy.
Making his way up the middle 43 minutes into the match,
S. Oargă almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
S. Ronsin blocked it to keep the score level.
Halftime score was 1 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Poli-Iasi, with 71 percent of the ball.
Some great play up the middle by Poli-Iasi led to a chance for
S. Oargă to score after 59 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
After a fine move down the middle
N. Westerveld nearly gave the home side a goal after 60 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
Poli-Iasi took the lead after 70 minutes as a result of
S. Oargă's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 2 - 1.
It was obvious that team Poli-Iasi had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
The heat made it a terrible day for
F. Achleitner, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players.
Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Poli-Iasi, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
G. Lo Bartolo squirmed through their central defence after 79 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 1.
G. Lo Bartolo had a fantastic opportunity to put Poli-Iasi up another goal 80 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Poli-Iasi claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 72 percent.
The most dominating Poli-Iasi player was without a doubt
R. Larnicol.
G. Lo Bartolo on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important Prahova player was
P. Coniglio.
Z. Fekete was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 1.
