Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and

G. Ion had a good opportunity to give Ploiestiului the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.

A. Muns managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 15 minutes. 0 - 1.
After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 16 minutes into the match, an alert
P. Omenazzo bagged the ball for Zimbrul, levelling the score to 1 - 1.
At 25 minutes played,
A. Rifici came in from the right with the intention of giving Zimbrul the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar.
1 - 1 was the halftime score.
Ploiestiului enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.
A. Dumičić behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 51 minutes as he gave the ball away to
G. Moulin. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
After 52 minutes, Ploiestiului put themselves up 1 - 2, as
J. Skals finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed Zimbrul's coach gave
G. Pira the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
R. Polica reluctantly left the field.
61 minutes into the game,
L. Joyau came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 62 minute mark, Ploiestiului's
A. Muns hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
After 69 minutes,
V. Drepanos made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 2 - 2.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
R. Tafani slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
N. Elguero, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
P. Omenazzo gave Zimbrul the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 3 - 2
Ploiestiului claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

However,
N. Elguero made a disastrous appearance.
