30763 spectators had found their way to Putineiu ArenA, despite the heavy rain. Aku Airikka was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Falke Thestrup and Vilmos Kövecses. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Vulturul. It was an obvious ambition of Vulturul to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. The wings were the focus of most of Costin's attacks today. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like A. Stankovic. Vulturul took the lead, 1 - 0, after a penalty 9 minutes into the match. R. Moeslund scored from the penalty spot. F. Călinescu could have put Vulturul up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 14 minutes. It was obvious that Costin had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Costin's T. Brambilla put the ball in the onion bag after 26 minutes to make it 1 - 1. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. Vulturul claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to B. Andrejić, but the Vulturul player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! 61 minutes into the match R. Moeslund put Vulturul ahead 3 - 1 with a truly marvelous free kick. By now, the players in Vulturul felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. The referee showed Vulturul's F. Călinescu the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. F. Călinescu squirmed through their central defence after 76 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 1. A well-executed free kick by R. Moeslund after 82 minutes made it 5 - 1 for Vulturul. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for R. Moeslund. Possession in this half belonged to Costin, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

Vulturul's top performer was clearly F. Vysoudil. However, D. Delahaye made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Costin player was without a doubt L. Comşa. T. Brambilla was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 1.
