Dark skies made the crowd of 13067 at ZaBest Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Dennis Naffzinger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gaetano Lanci and Kaupo Tera. theddy decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Lineup: Hijmans - Schutte, Cureu, Josefsen, Denies - Jipa, Antropoff, Zgărdău, Kushev - Mosca, Hipólito.

Moartea had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Bude - Vanharanta, Voglsinger, Cantillo - Sârbu, Huittinen, Heitman, Aeberhard, Leitão - Montevecchi, Mănescu.

The strategy for theddy was to use their ability to press. After 13 minutes, Moartea's P. Voglsinger made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. The incalculable H. Antropoff of theddy did everything right as he set up I. Kushev for a goal after 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the strike missed its target. After 39 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed N. Leitão to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. After 41 minutes, Moartea's C. Sârbu burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. V. Huittinen's lack of experience almost gave theddy a goal after 42 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. Q. Aeberhard of Moartea took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 43 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 4. Confident in their lead, Moartea's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4. Moartea claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 71 percent.

C. Sârbu made a quick rush after 53 minutes, but F. Denies had no problems keeping up the pace and stopped the attack. V. Huittinen increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 5. After 62 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for C. Sârbu who increased Moartea's lead to 0 - 6. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 66 minutes, Moartea did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, V. Huittinen was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 7. Moartea enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

theddy's best player was J. Hipólito. T. Hijmans was a disappointment, however. Moartea's top performer was clearly E. Mănescu. On the other hand, C. Sârbu's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 7.
