Callaghan's free kick had found the back of the net and put fc. diavol ahead 1 - 0! The visitors refused to give in and, after 8 minutes, R. Pintilei evened things up as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. 1 - 1 As J. Córdova had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the fc. diavol player a red card without batting an eyelid. Some things can only be learned through experience, and J. Guiheneuf should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting AJ a goal with 35 minutes of the match played. fc. diavol's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. At 38 minutes played, P. Fjelborn came in from the right with the intention of giving fc. diavol the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when V. Iernuţan was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 39 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! It was 1 - 1 at the break. AJ had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

AJ took the lead after 47 minutes making the score 1 - 2. J. Voetmann placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. After 51 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for J. Kinzerskis who increased AJ's lead to 1 - 3. fc. diavol's P. Fjelborn was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 58 minutes. O. Fritze challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 73 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. After 78 minutes, A. Callaghan had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for fc. diavol with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. Possession in this half belonged to fc. diavol, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

fc. diavol's best player was O. Fritze. I. Walraven on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important AJ player was V. Paştina. D. Buzariu turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
