It was an obvious ambition of Berca to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. At 17 minutes played, E. Waczyński came in from the right with the intention of giving Berca the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, E. Waczyński got himself booked. The manager of Berca was not happy. After 29 minutes, a deliberate handball from Berca's E. Waczyński was judged to be his second bookable offence, and he was sent off. Berca took the lead after 31 minutes as a result of F. Staal's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. Steaua caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 38 minutes into the match. B. Züfle was able to finish off the move - 1 - 1. After 42 minutes of play, V. Bătrânu gave the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Berca had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

The home side's J. Sanches came close to extending the lead 68 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but D. Muşat managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. 81 minutes into the match Berca's N. Fiorentino head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. Berca's R. Kiš swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. F. Staal of Berca received a yellow card after 87 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 88 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 2 - 2 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by C. Bărbulescu. Berca's J. Sanches was shown a yellow card after 88 minutes for slicing down an opponent. D. Popovici was called on to replace Steaua's B. Züfle after 89 minutes following a nasty collision. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 89 minutes into the match, and C. Bărbulescu wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 2 - 3 for the visitors. Steaua enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

Most important Berca player was J. Sanches. However, C. Szilasi made a disastrous appearance. Steaua's top performer was clearly O. Burghel. A. Tumurug on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 3.
