Cheyenne 2 - 0 Chelsea
(380952788)

23-06-2012 10.20
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 9923 to
Cheyenne Arena.
Albert-Jeen Klashorst was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Óscar Prieto and
Sol Myers.
Cheyenne decided to use a 5-4-1 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Kiełczyński - Portugal, Maristany, Watter, Coleiro, Moncada - Noam, Pitrop, Mislea, Salgara - Cazacu.
Chelsea tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Starters: Buragă - Deacu, Cebotaru, Bernard, Guga - Vulturescu, Maghiar, Ciubotariu, Wegenast - Casapu, Rădulescu.
After 17 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant.
O. Salgara easily put the ball away to give the lead to Cheyenne. 1 - 0
Cheyenne's
D. Moncada had an excellent opportunity after 26 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
With 28 minutes played,
L. Mislea could have brought this one home for Cheyenne as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
Cheyenne's
S. Watter swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
1 - 0 was the halftime score.
Cheyenne claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.
A counterattack by Chelsea after 54 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
A. Rădulescu, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Cheyenne scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
L. Mislea after 55 minutes.
Confident in their lead, Cheyenne's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
After 57 minutes Cheyenne tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
Y. Noam's shot sailed wide after his break down the right.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
J. Wegenast who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
R. Maristany received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 85 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
Cheyenne put in a good effort on the right, but
D. Pitrop saw his volley fly wide of the mark 86 minutes into the game.
Cheyenne had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.
Cheyenne's top performer was clearly
P. Cazacu.
S. Watter was a disappointment, however.
Chelsea's best player was
V. Casapu.
However,
M. Bernard made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 0.
