(381375369)

30-06-2012 11.30
Clouds darkened the skies at
Knights Arena as 54977 spectators turned up for the match.
Christian Fuchs was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Feddo Schalks and
Laurentiu-Cătălin Truşcă.
Everyone was excited about the upcoming
Hlavní město Praha derby and the crowd was divided evenly.
Knights started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
The following players took the field: Ventura Rodrigues - Baratier, Vinţan - Fortão, Lista, Maddii, Chessa, Şchiopu - Veselý, Pittner, Pohořelý.
Flohr tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Volante - Bedřich, Rygl, Krejčí - Bezruč, Stacho, Kierkegaard, Šorm, Špindler - Jičínský, Goyaz.
V. Şchiopu caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 15 minutes. This gave Knights the 1 - 0 lead.
17 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
A. Vinţan broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Knights.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Knights lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
The home team's fans were upset when, after 20 minutes, the visiting
I. Jičínský broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 2 - 1 was the score.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1.
Knights had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
Coming through the middle
J. Krejčí almost scored the equaliser for Flohr after 59 minutes, but
A. Ventura Rodrigues made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.
The home side's
F. Veselý came close to extending the lead 63 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
E. Volante managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
After 64 minutes,
E. Maddii made a complete fool of himself when he presented the ball to the feet of
E. Goyaz who smashed it into the open goal for Flohr. 2 - 2.
The terraces were silenced after 65 minutes when Flohr's
K. Rygl put the guests ahead 2 - 3, following an attack on the right.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Flohr tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
E. Goyaz slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 4, 66 minutes into the game.
The home crowd was given a certain amount of consolation when
F. Pittner scored after a brilliant midfield combination through the centre, reducing the lead to 3 - 4.
Flohr increased their lead after 78 minutes when
I. Jičínský broke through on the right, upping the score to 3 - 5, much to the home crowd's dismay.
Flohr's
K. Rygl refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 79 minutes.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Knights's
L. Lista was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 85 minutes.
A. Ivy was given a chance to change things around.
Knights claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
The most dominating Knights player was without a doubt
F. Pittner.
A. Ventura Rodrigues turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important Flohr player was
E. Goyaz.
S. Kierkegaard was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 5.
