41654 spectators arrived at
Matric Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Etienne Petersen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
José Vicente Molina and
Alejandro Peris.
Planá tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
They fielded: dos Santos - Hanna, Bussigel, Rutešić - Opseth, Buriánek, Florian, Szulga - Mertz, Pavlov, Thestrup.
Motor started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Senegal - Bech Jørgensen, Waarland, Jara - Mozetič, Farrés, Fedorek, Hykl, Lahos - Jaborek, Murbach.
Right from the start it was obvious that Planá were expecting an easy victory.
Motor seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
Planá took the lead 16 minutes in, as
E. Rutešić broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
17 minutes into the game Motor's
T. Murbach found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1.
After 32 minutes of play,
E. Rutešić gave the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right.
D. Farrés came close to levelling the score 34 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1.
Planá claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
Planá were in the lead, even though they'd severely underestimated their opponents. The team looked slightly more willing to put in the necessary work as the second half started.
Always a threat,
V. Mozetič tore past his marker and placed the ball right at the feet of the waiting
A. Jaborek who should have easily scored for Motor, but the ball went wide.
Planá's
J. Hanna increased the lead to 3 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 58 minutes.
The away team improved the scoreline to 3 - 2, as
T. Murbach struck home, set up well by a play on the left 83 minutes into the match.
C. Opseth hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Planá's
O. Florian an easy chance to knock it in for 4 - 2.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Planá's
E. Rutešić increasing the lead to 5 - 2.
At that,
E. Rutešić was noted down for a hat trick!
With 88 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Motor showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 5 - 3 when
V. Mozetič got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
After 89 minutes Motor's
D. Waarland limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
Possession in this half belonged to Planá, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.
T. Bussigel performed admirably for Planá.
W. Szulga on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important Motor player was
A. Jaborek.
On the other hand,
J. Senegal's play was disheartening.
The match ends 5 - 3.
