Dark skies made the crowd of 13301 at
Bayer Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Echedey Benito was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Roberto Beneventano and
Beneharo Hernández.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Karlovice.
They fielded: Vaňousek - Režný, Drmola, Krupica, Výlet - Lakatoš, Štvrtina, Hypš, Vodehnal - Augusta, Malík.
Jižani started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.

P. Štvrtina the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
P. Humpál received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 24 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Jižani fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.

D. Escher took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 34 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Jižani.
The referee signalled a penalty 35 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box.
L. Riefers knocked it home to make the score 0 - 4.
Confident in their lead, Jižani's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.

R. Ashville burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5.

Just a few inches to the right, and the visitors could have had a goal 51 minutes into the match.
L. Riefers surely wishes he could do that free kick over again.
The Jižani players could smell victory in the air.
D. Escher wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
R. Ossendrijver after 55 minutes.
59 minutes into the game, Jižani worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
Karlovice's counterattacks created a good chance for
J. Vodehnal on the right after 60 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar.
63 minutes into the match,
P. Humpál came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
With 66 minutes played, Jižani put themselves up 0 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
F. Lenske.
J. Timko left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 75 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
J. Doležel was the replacement.
Possession in this half belonged to Jižani, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.
B. Augusta performed admirably for Karlovice.
K. Vaňousek turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Jižani player was without a doubt
P. Humpál.
On the other hand,
N. Hunyadi's play was disheartening.
