30-06-2012 11.30
It had rained all day, but 19534 hardy fans still made it out to
Bulls Arena.
Noah Gabriel Maus was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Adrian Anlack and
Lucas Bognar.
Sulimov tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Carrau - Kabelka, Ulfke, Delamarre - Benard, Badocchi, Valkeejärvi, Glynn, Zelený - Descamps, Vymazal.
Čmoudi started off with a 4-5-1 lineup.
Starters: Mogliati - Traves, Herzog, Kučaba, Paroubek - Pascoe, Minati, Dvořák, Çelaj, Tondl - Acsinte.
The wings were the focus of most of Čmoudi's attacks today.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
C. Acsinte from Čmoudi a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 9 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
After 18 minutes,
O. Valkeejärvi came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Sulimov the lead.
The rain made it hard for players like
G. Glynn to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day.
S. Badocchi dispatched a majestic long shot 22 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres.
After 23 minutes,
O. Valkeejärvi put Sulimov ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
Cheers filled the stadium as
E. Descamps broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Sulimov.
Halftime score was 3 - 0.
Sulimov claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.
M. Benard increased the lead for Sulimov to 4 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
After this, you could see that the players of Sulimov were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Coming from the right,
J. Vymazal almost managed to score another goal for Sulimov, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
S. Pascoe spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch.
The Sulimov free kick 74 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
O. Zelený, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 5 - 0!
O. Valkeejärvi could have put Sulimov up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 76 minutes.
Sulimov had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.
Sulimov's top performer was clearly
E. Descamps.
J. Carrau on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Čmoudi player was without a doubt
G. Minati.
On the other hand,
S. Pascoe's play was disheartening.
The match ends 5 - 0.
