Clouds darkened the skies at "hájenský peklo" as 46661 spectators turned up for the match. It was an obvious ambition of cheb to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. For their match strategy, Olympique had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Good work by the Olympique defensive line after 14 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found A. Mihovski alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Olympique's A. Mihovski after 17 minutes. Filianoti got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. M. Brukner wanted to play on, but the Olympique coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 56 minutes into the game by V. Röksä. The head of M. Skovgaard Hansen a quick hug as he left the field. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave P. P. Skovgaard Hansen performed admirably for cheb. A. Fazio was a disappointment, however. Olympique's best player was A. Blondel. However, D. Fabre made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 1.
