2WAY 2 - 3 Vienroči
(381507716)

07-07-2012 11.45
Clear skies welcomed the 35211 spectators who had made their way to
2WAY Arena.
Peter Kolding was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rico van der Niet and
Bastien Remy.
2WAY tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Arshun - Gantenberg, Daamen, Kromer, Quondamatteo - Pintácsi, Schüttel, Bors, Vasıl, Çavlan - Ahling.
Vienroči had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
Lineup: Eihvalds - Larsen, Grundschober, Isorna, Cherepnev - Shlionskiy, Weidel, Becattini, Andrade, Capar - van Esschoten.
The corner kick from
N. Grundschober was powerfully met by the head of
B. Becattini to make the score 0 - 1.
2WAY's
A. Çavlan put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 18 minutes, but the ball went wide.
40 minutes into the match, the speedy
A. Çavlan easily outpaced
G. Larsen, chipped the keeper and made the score 1 - 1.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Vienroči tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
R. Isorna slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 2, 41 minutes into the game.
42 minutes into the game, Vienroči worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
After 43 minutes 2WAY's
A. Çavlan contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
Due to some great work on the right wing 2WAY's
S. Ahling was able to even the score after 44 minutes to make the score 2 - 2.
2WAY had to manage with a reduced squad after 44 minutes, as
S. Ahling got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action.
2 - 2 was the score after the first half.
This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.
M. van Esschoten had a good opportunity to give Vienroči the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 57 minutes, Vienroči did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
B. Weidel was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 3.
N. Grundschober could have added one to the visitors' lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower.
S. Heiberg Schmidt was called on to replace Vienroči's
G. Cherepnev after 79 minutes following a nasty collision.
Vienroči claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
2WAY's top performer was clearly
A. Arshun.
On the other hand,
A. Çavlan's play was disheartening.
K. Eihvalds performed admirably for Vienroči.
However,
S. Heiberg Schmidt made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 3.
