Stanoks 2 - 0 raymondsy (381509762)

Clear skies welcomed the 30486 spectators who had made their way to FK Stanoks Arena. Andrew Batt was the appointed referee. Stanoks tactics involved an interesting 5-3-2 combination. The following players took the field: Voskuil - Badia, Mihăilă, Roubinet, Capasso, Roos - Brualla, Sverdrup, Cóppola - Milec, Nagulevich.

raymondsy had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Olaya - Scheffauer, Hajipour, Ziedonis, Barontini - Fellner, Walin, Tejada, Furlong, Devin - Hamdani.

Stanoks clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for raymondsy. After a fine move down the middle Ź. Nagulevich nearly gave the home side a goal after 15 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. 16 minutes into the game raymondsy managed a counterattack, but J. Ziedonis took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. After 17 minutes raymondsy's M. Scheffauer contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Making his way up the middle 26 minutes into the match, C. Cóppola almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert F. Olaya blocked it to keep the score level. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 35 minutes, Stanoks tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. The referee showed raymondsy's G. Barontini the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Ź. Nagulevich, but the Stanoks player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Stanoks, with 62 percent of the ball.

Given a free kick close to the byline, Stanoks tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let A. Brualla slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 0, 49 minutes into the game. With 74 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of raymondsy resulted in a counterattack that set G. Barontini free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. Stanoks claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

Stanoks's top performer was clearly Ź. Nagulevich. C. Cóppola turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating raymondsy player was without a doubt R. Hamdani. On the other hand, F. Olaya's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 0.
