The 12000 spectators at Lionize Arena 08 were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Helmut Nideröst was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tjeerd van Hootegem and Sebastien Kramer. Lionize had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Starters: Freryhs - Zviedrāns, Mačs, Briedis, Beimanis - Klychkov, Baltiņš, Kaņeps, Baltris - Lapsa, Liepiņš.

Ezerskie started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Lineup: Kacalski - Platzer, Ionescu, Mansart, Deičmanis - Constenla, Ļipovskis, Dortāns, Ekstrøm - Nizami, Magnat.

Right from the start it was obvious that Ezerskie were expecting an easy victory. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 25 minutes into the match left Ezerskie's N. Dortāns completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. After 31 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for A. Constenla who increased Ezerskie's lead to 0 - 2. 37 minutes in, Ezerskie's A. Constenla received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Ezerskie increased their lead after 38 minutes when N. Dortāns broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. The sun seemed to put T. Nizami in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long. The home crowd was not impressed when M. Ekstrøm came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 41 minutes. Ezerskie were now up 0 - 4. Confident in their lead, Ezerskie's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Ezerskie enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

After 62 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed A. Ļipovskis to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 5. Lionize's D. Briedis got himself booked for a foul. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, N. Dortāns of Ezerskie spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. 71 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 6 as Ž. Deičmanis finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. With 76 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed A. Constenla of Ezerskie to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 7. Ž. Deičmanis increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 8. The visitors' N. Dortāns took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 83 minutes into the match. 0 - 9 for Ezerskie. This third goal completed a hattrick for N. Dortāns. Possession in this half belonged to Ezerskie, who controlled the ball 75 percent of the time.

Lionize's best player was A. Lapsa. J. Freryhs turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Ezerskie player was T. Nizami. On the other hand, A. Ļipovskis's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 9.
