A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 11756 to Jusepe Odesse. Marcel Badet was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Claus Ravnkilde and Barnett James. People from all over Rīga had joined up for the derby. FC_Odessa tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Jelgavnieks - Polievskiy, Soldāns, Dzelzkalejs, Ameriks - Klochev, Bergs, Navitski, Tarfimovich - Strods, Ventiņš.

Minores had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Bemanis - Vītols, Baušķinieks, Putniņš - Gūtmanis, Berg Briese, Cimbaļuks, Kacprzyński, Metalyuk - Bergsons, Birģers.

Underestimation of the opposition made Minores players perform way below their normal capacity. S. Tarfimovich enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again. A penalty was given after 12 minutes, allowing the visitors to gain the lead: 0 - 1. N. Berg Briese was the scorer. 18 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as S. Kacprzyński finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. 24 minutes into the match, the technically gifted S. Tarfimovich of FC_Odessa scored 1 - 2, having made J. Putniņš look like a complete fool. After 27 minutes, Minores's J. Putniņš burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Minores lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. FC_Odessa's P. Navitski refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 30 minutes. N. Berg Briese received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 34 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 4. The Minores fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. With the scoreboard showing that 38 minutes had been played, Minores nearly put themselves up another goal after L. Metalyuk came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. 1 - 4 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Minores, with 71 percent of the ball.

After 58 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed K. Cimbaļuks to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 5. After 66 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave K. Cimbaļuks a chance to increase the lead for Minores, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 6. J. Gūtmanis was, after 74 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper O. Jelgavnieks made the save. 81 minutes in, FC_Odessa's S. Dzelzkalejs received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. J. Gūtmanis of Minores took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 83 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 7. The home crowd was not impressed when N. Berg Briese came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 84 minutes. Minores were now up 1 - 8. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for N. Berg Briese. Possession in this half belonged to Minores, who controlled the ball 76 percent of the time.

Most important FC_Odessa player was L. Ventiņš. A. Strods turned in a dismal performance, however. K. Cimbaļuks performed admirably for Minores. However, R. Bergsons made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 8.
