A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 12000 to kaka. Philip Spuhler was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hervé Cantau and Eric Ahoueya. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for SuperStarss1. They fielded: Budakov - Bušs, Dzērvītis, Smagars, Kovalchuk - Kłodziński, Dworok, Putro, Melbārdis - Bārtuls, Zaļūksnis.

Dobele had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. Lineup: Albertz - Pautov, Doniņš, Lavrov, Sichkarev, Jostnieks - Balushkin, Valčs, Kaļiņins - Anikiev, Kushmero.

Dobele clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. They were singing the praises of R. Melbārdis 3 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to SuperStarss1. It was obvious that team Dobele had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Dobele had a chance to level the score as Y. Balushkin suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar. Dobele's right side looked dangerous 30 minutes in, but A. Budakov made a good save on Y. Balushkin's hard shot to the top corner. Dobele tied it all up, 32 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by P. Kaļiņins, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Dobele claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

Dobele were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 59 minutes, Dobele's V. Anikiev made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. After 61 minutes, Dobele's A. Jostnieks burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. P. Kaļiņins was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from Dobele's defence 71 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 1 - 4. Dobele's P. Lavrov got himself booked for a foul. A drive down the left side allowed P. Lavrov to get in close and score another goal for Dobele after 80 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 5. Confident in their lead, Dobele's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. V. Anikiev of Dobele took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 83 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 6. Dobele enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

SuperStarss1's best player was K. Bārtuls. On the other hand, M. Zaļūksnis's play was disheartening. A. Kushmero performed admirably for Dobele. P. Doniņš turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 6.
