previous 3/4 next 1/4  Vacca 0 - 10 Lippetta (381664002)

21389 fans braved the pouring rain at Sun Tzu VaccArena. Augustyn Slowik was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Florindo Cerri and Joakim Haugskjær. Vacca decided to use a 4-3-3 set up. Lineup: Capponcelli - Mattone, Fabiano, Borin, Maldini - Cavalli, Niinikivi, Hodel - Peluffo, Büschgens, Accardi.

Lippetta started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Omazzi - Torre, Mehveş, van Huis - Riolo, Grande, Grammegna, Zamperetti, Santojanni - Traoui, Grippo.

Lippetta took the lead 16 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. F. Santojanni was the scorer. A drive down the left side allowed F. Grippo to get in close and score another goal for Lippetta after 21 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. The bench was restless, and with 23 minutes passed Vacca's coach gave G. Chevallier the opportunity the player had been hoping for. B. Capponcelli reluctantly left the field. 28 minutes into the game, Vacca seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation. After 30 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for F. Santojanni who increased Lippetta's lead to 0 - 3. The players of Lippetta now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The home crowd was not impressed when D. Grande came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 33 minutes. Lippetta were now up 0 - 4. After 35 minutes Vacca's P. Maldini had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. Ü. Alkan came in to replace him. The Vacca captaincy was handed to J. Hodel. Some fine movement on the left led to a Lippetta goal after 37 minutes, making it 0 - 5. B. Traoui was noted down as the scorer. 0 - 5 was the score after the first half. Lippetta had most of the ball, with 82 percent of possession.

During the break, Vacca's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. B. Traoui wanted to play on, but the Lippetta coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 50 minutes into the game by S. Festorazzi. The coach of Lippetta was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 50 minutes, V. Zambotti came on for F. Grippo. 55 minutes into the game, Lippetta were awarded a penalty and B. Grammegna was able to increase the visitors' lead to 0 - 6 rolling the ball in by the right post. Vacca needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 56 minutes G. Chevallier made way for F. Shatkov. 57 minutes into the game, Vacca seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to weak. P. Riolo received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 61 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 7. The Lippetta fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. F. Santojanni increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 8. At that, F. Santojanni was noted down for a hat trick! The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave V. Zambotti from Lippetta a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 73 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The visitors' D. Grande took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 81 minutes into the match. 0 - 9 for Lippetta. A. Mehveş didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. 85 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 10 as S. Festorazzi finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Lippetta claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 86 percent.

Vacca's best player was H. Niinikivi. However, B. Fabiano made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Lippetta player was without a doubt V. Omazzi. V. Zambotti was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 10.
