previous 6/10 next 8/10  parma 3 - 3 Broken (381665065)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 38557 to tardini boys. Andrea Francolini was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ha Ha and Antonio Madorrán. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for parma. The following players had been chosen: Czinege - Sleiman, Mocanu - Rahmman, Campomagnani, Brutti, Vasilev, Košutić - Barbanti, Mecca, Vichea.

Broken started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players took the field: Manerba - Todeschini, Di Paola, Angrilli, Szaton - Pedroni, Rocco, Miloscio, Cecchetti, Bertelsen - Aktuğ.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Broken. V. Vichea gave parma the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 The visitors' G. Miloscio was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 1 - 1 after 13 minutes. M. Rahmman could have put parma into the lead after 14 minutes, but the free kick went just wide. Broken's A. Di Paola could have put the guests one up after 36 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but Z. Czinege was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. parma enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

parma's V. Vichea showed his experience, anticipating the outcome of the opponent's defensive clearance and positioning himself perfectly to volley in an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box. 2 - 1. 77 minutes into the game, parma were awarded a penalty that M. Rahmman turned into 3 - 1 without a problem. A bit later, Broken's F. Cecchetti easily reduced the lead to 3 - 2 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. parma put in a good effort on the right, but M. Mecca saw his volley fly wide of the mark 79 minutes into the game. The Broken free kick 83 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of P. Angrilli, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 3 - 3! With 84 minutes played, F. Cecchetti of Broken fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Broken, with 51 percent of the ball.

V. Vichea performed admirably for parma. I. Mocanu on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Broken player was without a doubt S. Aktuğ. A. Di Paola was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 3.
