Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and

A. Balestri received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 37 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The Soccer fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
With the scoreboard showing that 38 minutes had been played, Soccer nearly put themselves up another goal after
C. Nandrin came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
After 39 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by EXCELSIOR on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by
S. Ristić to make it 1 - 3.
Halftime score was 1 - 3.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Soccer, with 52 percent of the ball.
EXCELSIOR reduced the lead to 2 - 3 with 63 minutes on the clock when
L. De Stefani got the best of a ball floated in from the left.
64 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 2 - 4 as
T. Yehezkel finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
With a penalty awarded after 65 minutes, EXCELSIOR's
A. Raemdonck placed the ball low and to the keeper's right, impossible to block. 3 - 4.

T. Oravainen came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
The home crowd was not impressed when
F. Moris came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 79 minutes. Soccer were now up 3 - 5.

The most dominating EXCELSIOR player was without a doubt
C. Mazzoni.
L. De Stefani was a disappointment, however.
