For their match strategy, Marin had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
A. Tanguy came close to putting the visiting team one up 8 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but
U. Maksur managed to tip the ball to a corner.
19 minutes into the game,
M. Fingerlos was a hair's breadth away from giving Dinamo the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by
U. Maksur saved the home team that time.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 28 minutes allowed
R. Beleza to score for Dinamo. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1.
35 minutes in, Dinamo's
R. Beleza received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
U. Ruschenski received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 38 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Dinamo fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Dinamo lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2.
Dinamo had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.
After 61 minutes,
G. Taricco had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Marin with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar.

After 73 minutes, the defensive line of Marin created a counterattack through the middle that gave
N. Fatturo a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
C. Boehm-Neudhart neatly controlled the ball after a short corner, and knocked it on to
A. Tanguy who had the whole net open before him, but only managed to hit the post.
D. Romanin tried to get a goal back for Marin but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move.
A wonderful trick by
M. Fingerlos that left
L. Battistini bewildered really deserved to end in a goal but the keeper made a fine save.
Given a free kick in a difficult position after 87 minutes, Dinamo tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish.
Dinamo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.
Marin's top performer was clearly
D. Romanin.
U. Maksur on the other hand, had a terrible day.
R. Fox performed admirably for Dinamo.
U. Ruschenski turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 0 - 2.
