Some great play up the middle by Palestro led to a chance for R. Ivaldi to score after 25 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Clitomani's F. Castaldo was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 26 minutes. 28 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Palestro was G. Giaccio. Palestro solidified their lead at the 32 minute mark, as N. Polimeni dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. A well placed corner kick from G. Rocchi was followed by A. Nasi's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Clitomani, the score now 2 - 1. That was far too lenient! 42 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as N. Lodes broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for Palestro. When F. Castaldo made yet another studs-first tackle after 43 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the Clitomani player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. Halftime score was 3 - 1. Palestro enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

The home crowd was silenced as G. Rocchi took a successful penalty shot 66 minutes into the game, reducing the home lead to 3 - 2. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Palestro's A. Goina increasing the lead to 4 - 2. Palestro had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

N. Lodes performed admirably for Palestro. V. Polini on the other hand, had a terrible day. Clitomani's best player was E. Villa. On the other hand, M. Zavatta's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 2.
