Dark skies made the crowd of 48874 at
Timo Portnoy Stadium a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Holil pakpahan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Baltasar Cordera and
Sybrand Rodenhuis.
StratoDream had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
They fielded: Baril - Daffara, 大谷 (Otani), Ćošković - Erkens, Warakomski, Gomes Domingos, Maccarrone, Lauzière - Magnone, Santamaria.
Granoturco started off with a 5-3-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Fontanili - Oliva, Coa, Salis, Selmani, Virtanen - Chiarito, Rinaldo, Callegati - Milanesi, Bertaccini.
For their match strategy, Granoturco had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
Granoturco played a good counterattacking move down the left 15 minutes into the match, with
R. Milanesi finishing well for 0 - 1.
After 34 minutes, Granoturco's
G. Selmani burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2.
Halftime score was 0 - 2.
Possession in this half belonged to StratoDream, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.
After 58 minutes, the defensive line of Granoturco created a counterattack through the middle that gave
O. Bertaccini a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
R. Milanesi left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
M. Verhaagen was the replacement.
With things not going too well on the field, the StratoDream coach made the decision to swap the positions of
C. Lauzière and
S. Erkens with 65 minutes played.
A drive down the left side allowed
P. Chiarito to get in close and score another goal for Granoturco after 67 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 3.
The players of Granoturco now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
The Granoturco players could smell victory in the air.
P. Chiarito wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
G. Tassani after 70 minutes.
StratoDream's
P. Magnone found himself alone on the left side 78 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper!
StratoDream needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 80 minutes
P. Magnone made way for
J. Silventoinen.
J. Silventoinen was the new captain of StratoDream - handed the armband by the departing player.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by StratoDream, with 65 percent of the ball.
StratoDream's top performer was clearly
A. Santamaria.
However,
J. Silventoinen made a disastrous appearance.
The most dominating Granoturco player was without a doubt
O. Bertaccini.
On the other hand,
A. Coa's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 3.
