By now, the players in Mollanza felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. It took several tries, but Atletic managed to break through on the left after 28 minutes, getting the ball to E. Pirlo who easily reduced the lead to make the score 1 - 3.
