Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 38500 to Bogliasco Bridge. Rocky Packet was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rui Faustino and Arvids Petersons. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Lauretana. Aimila clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to C. Marra, but the Lauretana player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Aimila almost scored after a swift counterattack 11 minutes into the game, but K. Dorotík put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. The cannonball from 35 metres by G. Grosso of Lauretana was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net. Aimila's counterattacks created a good chance for G. Bulzomi on the right after 14 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. After 17 minutes, Lauretana's E. Lobo swiftly ran past B. Sodini and nutmegged the keeper! 2 - 0. After this, you could see that the players of Lauretana were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Coming in from the right, Aimila had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 24 minutes, but A. Gajowiec's attempt to finish was easily stopped. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Lauretana, with 70 percent of the ball.

N. Adrianopoli of Aimila received a yellow card after 49 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 56 minutes Aimila tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, K. Keronen's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. S. Ceschina could have increased the lead after 75 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Coming from the right, L. Scarsoglio almost managed to score another goal for Lauretana, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Lauretana's G. Bonfrate increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 80 minutes. Lauretana had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.

Lauretana's best player was L. Scarsoglio. E. Lobo was a disappointment, however. K. Dorotík performed admirably for Aimila. R. Alocci turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
