Samphan almost tied things up with 31 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post. F. Feighofen charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for CSKH, but the shot went well wide of the goal. Halftime score was 1 - 2. A. Di Natale was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Gastoni counterattack from the left after 48 minutes. His neat finish made the score 1 - 3. M. Sbomperti received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 55 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 4. The Gastoni fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. A drive down the left side allowed N. Bucur to get in close and score another goal for Gastoni after 57 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 5. M. Sbomperti wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. The home team's supporters got excited again when F. Feighofen broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 2 - 5. The coach of Gastoni was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 70 minutes, F. Frerichs came on for F. Anulo. CSKH's P. Bezruč cut towards the middle after 74 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 3 - 5. N. Sundli wanted to play on, but the Gastoni coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 75 minutes into the game by S. Linc. Possession in this half belonged to CSKH, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
