The following players took the field: Romanello - Masetti, Peterčič, Cimpoeru - Perrotta, Obhart, Gandolfi, Francolino, Gaeta - Andò, Cusanno.
The strategy for Shamrock was to use their ability to press.
They were singing the praises of
A. Saranello 16 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Angizia.
A. Saranello could have increased the lead after 31 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
Shamrock's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Angizia's
M. Campolunghi increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
Angizia managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when
F. Bucciaglia cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Angizia lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
M. Arciotti had a fantastic opportunity to put Angizia up another goal 40 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
3 - 0 was the halftime score.
Angizia had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.
Angizia's
M. Chiarani swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
Coming from the right,
N. Fusco almost managed to score another goal for Angizia, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
After a short break after 70 minutes, Angizia seemed to change their tactical approach a bit.
Angizia's
D. Arcieri got himself booked for a foul.
After 77 minutes Angizia's
C. Feduzzi limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
A great save by keeper
R. Romanello after 77 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
D. Arcieri struck from the left with a real cannonball.
Angizia solidified their lead at the 78 minute mark, as
M. Campolunghi dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 0.
Angizia's
D. Picchianti left the field after 79 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
R. Dichio.
Possession in this half belonged to Angizia, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.
The most dominating Angizia player was without a doubt
N. Fusco.
On the other hand,
R. Dichio's play was disheartening.
Most important Shamrock player was
M. Cusanno.
R. Peterčič on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 4 - 0.
